Who We Are

The Hare Krishna Institute for Higher Education, a project of the Hare Krishna Africa, is unparalleled in the knowledge and understanding of Vedic, Gaudiya Vaishnava culture and philosophy that it imparts to students. The Institute’s vision and activities are inspired by the teachings of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
Notwithstanding the academic education obtained in the outside world, students who come to the Hare Krishna Africa Institute for Higher Education acquire training and skills in practicing devotional services as taught by Srila Prabhupada and Academics and Ethics Education. Our programs are based on systematic and scrutinizing study of Srila Prabhupada books.
Hare Krishna Africa Institute for Higher Education also offers teacher training courses to train students to become effective teachers. The students are thus taught to apply Gaudiya Vaishnava teachings, educate others, and become empowered emblems of the glorious heritage of our Acharyas. Graduated students are equipped with the leadership skills required to perpetuate our mission and thus reform the misguided and suffering society in which we now live.

Our Vision

To offer advanced study opportunities for comprehending the writings of the predecessor Acharyas, the primary books of the four Vaishnava sampradayas, and important Vedic scriptures. Students from all over the world will be trained to become qualified teachers, preachers, leaders, theologians, and scholars.
Their mission will be to spread the unique contributions of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to humanity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide an opportunity for humanity to systematically study the Vedic Scriptures as taught by Srila Prabhupada in his books for learning Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy and culture. We aim to provide knowledge of Gaudiya Vaishnava scriptures to students in strict accordance with the books and teachings of Srila Prabhupada and to build a pool of highly knowledgeable and qualified intellectuals on Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy and culture.
